what are some good websites besides here to post yarn for sale/swap?i need some of my house space back, and i have about two big garbage bags full of yarn that im never going to use. Im borowing a camrea from my dad tonight, and hopefully i can take photos of them all. quite a few are in original packing.
eBay is not horrible.Posting in huge yarn user communities (crochet, knitting, etc) will clean out a stash pretty quickly. You just have to be very organized. I remember a post on crochet last year where someone had posted their stash. She had an offsite page with a table breaking down exactly what she had, color, brand, skein size, the price per skein and a sample, close up picture of the yarn where possible. When someone had asked for something, she would mark it "pending". When it was paid/shipped, she would delete it from the list. It seemed to work out pretty well.
thanks. i wanted to stay away from ebay if possable, cuz i dont have a credit card (would have to borrow dads, and i dont like doing that) i think ill set up a webage tonight. thank goodness for frontpage!
make sure you tell us where it is. I haven't gotten to the point where I have to get rid of my stash and start over yet!
yes, please let us know the ins & outs of the yarn destashing;)thanks
